  • No. Our boats are electrically powered and designed to meet the special requirements of hire without a boat licence. No boating experience is required. Instructions on how to operate the electronic motor are provided on arrival.

  • A captain must be nominated who will operate the boat, this person must:

    • Be over 21 years of age

    • Not exceed a blood alcohol limit of 0.05

    • Be responsible for all passengers on board

    • Provide a valid driver’s licence to be sighted prior to departure

    Upon request, our services are available to drive the boat. This will incur an additional fee and requires 24 hours notice.

    • Beverages – we are a BYO operation

    • Camera/Phone to capture the fun and post to our Instagram @chillngrilllakecruising

    • Phone to connect to our on-board Bluetooth speaker system

    • Hat in case of extremely hot weather.

  • All hirers are required to arrive 15 minutes before their confirmed booking time.

    We operate under strict time slots, therefore if you arrive late we may rebook the vessel and all paid monies will be forfeited.

    Upon arrival our staff will conduct a briefing on the Chill n Grill boat and provide a safety checklist that needs to be completed and signed by the nominated captain.

  • Chill n Grill boats can seat up to 8 guests.

    Safety is non-negotiable. Additional guests will be refused access to the boat.

  • Our boats are very stable and safe for all ages and everyone is sure to enjoy their Chill n Grill experience. Children under 10 years of age are required to wear life jackets. When booking please advise if life jackets will be required for any children.

    The boats are not wheelchair accessible.

  • The hire fee includes cruising time, safety equipment,), esky filled with ice, use of Bluetooth speaker and rubbish bag.

  • We operate according to very strict time slots and you will be charged an additional fee if you have not returned to shore on time. A late fee of $50.00 per fifteen minutes will be charged.

  • Unfortunately, the hire fee will not be refunded if you decide to come back early.

  • If poor weather prevents Chill n Grill boats from operating you can reschedule dates and times within 6 months of the original scheduled booking without incurring additional administration charges. Poor weather is determined on the www.bom.gov.au site. For safety reasons winds must not exceed 20 knots, be raining or have a storm or wind warnings forecast.

  • Yes, the shade is waterproof, it can protect you from a light rain however Chill n Grill Lake Cruising does not operate in heavy rain or strong winds.

  • The nominated captain can consume alcohol but must not exceed a blood alcohol level of 0.05. The Queensland Police Service will be notified if it is evident that excessive alcohol has been consumed by the captain and your security deposit will be forfeited.

    Passengers are allowed moderate alcohol however drunk and disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in your hire being cut short and your security deposit forfeited.

  • You will be required to make full payment by credit card at the time of booking.

    A $150 security deposit is required before boarding. This can be paid by pre-authorisation on credit card or by cash on arrival.

  • The security deposit is a pre-authorisation and we do not withdraw the money from your account. Assuming that the boat is returned in the same condition as that when you took responsibility of it, the pre-authorization will be returned to your credit card within 8 - 14 business days. Some banks take even longer than this time period. We do not have control over this timeframe.

    If you place the security deposit by cash, the bond will be returned to you as soon as you return the Chill n Grill boat in the same condition as that when you took it away.

    You will forfeit a full security deposit if the nominated driver consumes excessive alcohol, passengers are excessively affected by alcohol, passengers are abusive towards our staff or there is any damage to the boat.

  • Yes, you will need to make sure that the Chill n Grill boat is returned in a clean state. Please put all the rubbish in the rubbish bag provided and dispose of it. If using the BBQ it will be cleaned by our staff. If the boat is not returned in an acceptably clean state, a cleaning fee of $100.00 will apply. This fee will be deducted from the security deposit.
